Discovery Kids is the "yuckiest site on the internet," and it's full of surprising science facts.

National Geographic Kids helps you explore the world and everything in it.

NASA has an out of this world site with facts about earth, space, and technology
Kids Health offers information on illness, growing up, and the human body. There's even a glossary of medical terms.  

Body and Mind has information about diseases, exercise, nutrition and lots more.
EcoKids is a great place to learn more about the environment and how to protect it.

History and Geography:

Atlapedia is a great resource for political maps, physical maps, and statistics for countries all over the world.

CIA Factbook makes it easy to find information about the geography, government, military, communication, people, and flags of countries all over the world.

The Past Presidents of the United States offers fast facts and in-depth details about past presidents and other American history.

Databases (the info your teachers like you to use):

elibrary elementary searchable by topic, you can find newspapers, books, videos, maps, pictures and more.

Kids InfoBits reference, magazine, and newspaper articles about all sorts of things.

Sports:

FABULOUS FANTASTIC FRIDAYS!

Children ages 2-6, with a parent or caregiver, can sign up separately for these programs, which will be 30 minutes of stories, songs, crafts and fun!
All "Catch the Reading Bug" Club Members are welcome to attend. Fridays at 10:30 am.

SUMMER BOOK CLUB:
FOR KIDS ENTERING GRADES 3-5

Join us on Monday, July 7 at 6:30 pm for a picnic dinner, and to discuss the beloved children's classic Charlotte's Web, by E.B. White. This new club will meet once per season. See the Children's Desk to register, get a list of future titles, and borrow a copy of Charlotte's Web.

MOTHER/DAUGHTER BOOK CLUB

Girls entering Grades 4-6 and their Mothers, Aunts, or Grandmas are welcome to join Miss Jane for a Potluck Picnic and Book Discussion, on Wednesday, July 16 at 6:30 pm. Multiple copies of our summer selection, The Mother-Daughter Book Club by Heather Vogel Fredrick are now available at the Children's Desk. Please register in the Children's Department.

SCRAPBOOKING NIGHT

Kids entering Grades 1-5 are welcome to join us on Monday, July 21 at 6:30 pm for an evening of creative photo crafting. Bring 4 to 6 photos of your family, your pet, your friends, a vacation you took recently, or anything else that is meaningful to you. We will provide many unusual items to enhance your photos and you will leave with a beautiful creation you will want to keep forever. Please register in the Children's Department.
