About the LibraryBudget Update 2012
The Wixom Library Board is dedicated to providing quality library services that promote both educational and cultural growth for the Wixom Community. The Library continues to face financial challenges and as we weather this economic storm, the Board is committed to operate in a fisaclly responsible manner. Over the last four years, the Library's tax revenue has decreased by approximately 30% or $300,000. Due to these financial constraints, the Library will eliminate Friday hours of service this summer (from June 1st through August 31st). The Library will also be eliminating Sunday hours completely beginning May 13th. Despite having to make these hard decisions, the Board is committed to continuing to offer our community a wide array of materials, programs and services that our patrons desire.
About the Library
Wixom Public Library is a member of The Library Network, allowing greater access to materials and borrowing privileges at most of the other member libraries.
The Library has earned Quality Service Audit Checklist (QSAC) Essential-level certification from the Library of Michigan. QSAC is a voluntary management standards program that assists public libraries by setting benchmarks for Governance & Administration, Human Resources, Services, Collection Development, Technology, Facilities & Equipment and Public Relations. We are very proud to be recognized for the quality library service we deliver.
